PALM SUNDAY COLLECTION
The Mission Committee of First Church decided to have their annual Palm Sunday Missions Collection on behalf of hawkwing with the collection of Disposable diapers, baby wipes, bar soap, toddler & adult toothbrushes, non-whitening toothpaste, chap-stick, dental floss, deodorant, and sanitary products. First Donations will be shipped from hawkwing’s hub in Glastonbury, CT. In early June, the truck will be loaded to deliver donations to the Cheyenne River Sioux (Lakota) Reservation in South Dakota. hawkwing is an 501(3) organization founded by Rochelle Ripley.
FOOD IN-GATHERING
On the second Sunday of the month we will be collecting items for a local food pantry (South Windsor Food and Fuel Bank or Interval House). These donations are appreciated greatly. One or two items may not seem like much, but to someone who has empty cupboards and stomachs, it is life-giving.
